Career resilience for the AI era

AI is not replacing your experience. It is auditing it.

Every role in technology is being quietly sorted into two piles: the work a tool can now do, and the work that still needs judgement. Most people find out which pile they are in when a restructure tells them.

R.E.S.T.O.R.E.™ is a seven-part framework for finding out first, and rebuilding your career around the part that lasts.

Who it is for

Built for people with ten to twenty-five years in technology

You have a track record, a mortgage and a reputation. You are too experienced to start again and too close to the change to ignore it.

Project and programme managers Business analysts Delivery leads Service and infrastructure managers Test and quality leads Technical team leads

You might recognise some of this

  • The tasks you were known for now take a tool a few minutes
  • Your job title has not changed, but the work underneath it has
  • Conversations about "efficiency" have started, and you are not sure which side of them you are on
  • Your CV describes what you did. None of it explains what you are worth now

None of this means your experience has stopped being valuable. It means it has stopped being visible. That is a problem you can fix, if you see it early.

Why a resilience framework

Organisations rehearse their recovery. Most people never rehearse theirs.

R.E.S.T.O.R.E. began as a way of describing how organisations survive disruption: what they need to recognise, count, protect, test and decide before an incident, so that recovery is a plan rather than a scramble.

From the start it had two lanes. What the organisation must do, and what the people inside it must do. The seven capabilities that decide whether an organisation recovers from an incident are the same seven that decide whether a career recovers from a restructure.

The two lanes

  • For individualsYour career, and the security it gives your family. This is where it starts.
  • For organisationsThe same programme, for teams going through AI change. Coming later.
  • First publishedR.E.S.T.O.R.E. was introduced publicly on LinkedIn in April 2026.

The framework

R.E.S.T.O.R.E.™

Seven capabilities that decide whether a career comes through change stronger. Each comes with three honest questions and one thing to do this week.

RRecogniseRead the signals before a restructure does it for you
EEstablishCount what your career actually depends on
SSafeguardKeep your load-bearing skills current
TTestProve your value with evidence, not job titles
OOrchestrateMake the big decisions in advance, not under pressure
RRecoverKnow your next move before you need it
EEvolveKeep adapting after the change, not just through it

This is the eve of a new revolution.

The risks are real, and they deserve to be taken seriously. But every shift this size opens doors that did not exist the year before. The people who walk through them first are rarely the most technical. They are the ones who know what they bring.

Experience is not what this revolution leaves behind. It is what it will be looking for.

What is coming

About

I have spent twenty years on the delivery side of technology change

I am Owen Anderson. I have delivered technology and resilience programmes inside UK regulated organisations, including Lloyds Banking Group, NatWest, Virgin Money, Tesco Bank, Royal London and Royal Bank of Scotland. I have also coached mid-career technology professionals since 2017.

I now work full-time in enterprise AI deployment. I have watched what happens to experienced people when the work underneath their role changes, and I have watched the ones who come out of it stronger. The difference is rarely talent. It is usually whether they saw it coming and had a plan.

R.E.S.T.O.R.E. is that plan, written down.

An independent, personal project

R.E.S.T.O.R.E. is run in my own time and is not connected to any employer. It draws on no employer's confidential information, and the views on this site and in my programmes are my own.

Straight answers

Before you join

Will I be spammed?

No. One email when there is something worth sending, and an unsubscribe link in every one.

I am not technical. Is this for me?

Yes. R.E.S.T.O.R.E. is about your value, not about learning to code. It is built for people whose experience is in delivery, analysis, leadership and service, not just engineering.

I do not have much time.

The cheat sheet takes about fifteen minutes to read. After that, one letter a week is plenty.

Boundaries

What this is not

  • It is not a recruitment agency or a job board, and it does not promise a job, a promotion or a pay rise.
  • It is not careers, financial or legal advice. It is a framework for thinking clearly, and the decisions stay yours.
  • It is not consultancy. I am not taking on client engagements.
  • It is not anti-AI. The tools are here to stay. The question is what you do alongside them.

Which parts of your experience would survive the audit?

Join the waitlist and get the R.E.S.T.O.R.E. cheat sheet by email. After that, one email when there is something worth sending, and nothing else.

First, what should I call you?

Step 1 of 3

Optional. WhatsApp updates go out as a broadcast, so other people on the list never see your number. Choose Yes only if you want them.
